Flex Driver
What shaft flex should i get on my driver?
I went to a sporting goods store, and I got my Swing Speed clocked. It was at 115 mph. I am 18 and a 12 handicap. I was looking online and they said to get a XS-shaft. I have a Stiff Shaft now, so I don't know. Any help appreciated!!
If you're looking to buy a new driver, I would get fitted properly on a launch monitor. One company's stiff shaft is another company's XS, and vice-versa. Not only that, stiffness is just one aspect of a shaft's characteristics. Torque and flex point being the others.
If you're not looking for a new driver and are just curious, the symptom of too flexible shaft is hitting it high left. I find way too many people (guys especially!) play too stiff of a shaft for their swing. It's an ego swing. So don't let your ego get in the way of making the proper decision. The bottom line is the score at the end of the round, not what the markings on the shaft are!!
